What is bullying and harassment?

This animation introduces the key concepts surrounding bullying and harassment in the workplace, to help promote understanding and raise awareness of these issues.

It follows the Royal Society of Chemistry’s research on women’s retention and progression in the chemical sciences and LGBT+ physical scientists’ experiences of the workplace. These reports evidenced widespread incidences of discrimination, bullying, harassment and exclusionary behaviour in the workplace, which we are committed to helping eliminate.

We have also launched a bullying and harassment support line – https://www.rsc.org/new-perspectives/talent/bullying-and-harassment-support – to listen to those who are struggling to talk and to signpost toward resources which may help. This support line is supported by the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Chemists’ Community Fund.
